Yury se graduó de la Universidad Estatal Lomonosov Moscow State University con un diploma en Psicología. Después de un periodo de prácticas en investigación en Basel, Suiza, Yury hizo su doctorado en el Departamento de Psicología Experimental en la Universidad de Mannheim, Alemania. Yury también ha trabado como asociado de investigación en el Instituto Central de Salud Mental en Mannheim. Sus intereses están enfocados en la intersección de psicología y ciencias computacionales, con una acentuación en métodos y programación. Yury desarrolló Open Lab, una plataforma para realizar experimentos en línea. Desde 20019 ha trabajado como postdoctorante en la Universidad de Konstanz.
