The Psychonomic Society features a new article on the history and development of online data collection co-authored by U.-D. Reips in its blog. The article derived from a symposium U.-D. Reips organized at the Society for Computers in Psychology (SCiP) meeting in Boston in November 2016. The blog post covers the advantages of online data collection as well as some guidelines for collecting data online.

In January 2017 the Society for Computers in Psychology (SCiP) names the 2001 paper “Reips, U.-D. (2001). The Web Experimental Psychology Lab: Five years of data collection on the Internet. Behavior Research Methods, Instruments, & Computers, 33, 201-211.” one of eight “groundbreaking and influential” articles in the history of the society and the field.
