Yury hat sein Studium an der Lomonossow-Universität Moskau mit einem Diplom in Psychologie abgeschlossen. Nach einem Forschungspraktikum in Basel, Schweiz, promovierte Yury am Lehrstuhl für Experimentelle Psychologie der Universität Mannheim, Deutschland. Yury war auch als wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter am Zentralinstitut für Seelische Gesundheit in Mannheim tätig. Seine Interessen liegen in der Verbindung von Psychologie und Computerwissenschaft mit den Schwerpunkten Methoden und Programmierung. Yury hat Open Lab entwickelt, eine Webplattform für die Durchführung von Online-Experimenten. Seit 2019 ist er an der Universität Konstanz als Post-Doc tätig.
